Lemur

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 15 years

We noticed two senior dogs on the Győr municipal pound website, who came from Tétra. It became clear that Magnus and Yuma are pack animals, so we immediately contacted them and the next day went to pick up the two elderly dogs. We already knew what to expect because Wookie and Lemur have a similar build as their two companions. They cannot handle the affectionate intentions, so we are giving them some time to calm down. We approach their souls with small steps, but it would be much easier in a family environment. Wookie and Lemur are waiting for a loving family, since over the past 10+ years they have not experienced much love. Lemur does not see much, which is why he is much more timid, currently staying in the safety of a house. We would very much like to show him and his companions that they are also lovable and that there is someone in the world who has been waiting just for them! Lemur is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered and is available for adoption. Attention, the dog can be found at the NOÉ Animal Shelter's Szerényi branch. You can inquire about it at our address! Figyelem a kutya a NOÉ Állatotthon szergényi telephelyén található. Érdeklődni róla a címünkön lehet!További képek ITT! About Lemur

What life with Lemur looks like

Lemur is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Vision impaired - does not see well, requires patient approach and secure environment

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lemur, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lemur?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lemur on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lemur if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lemur already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lemur isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lemur and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
