The pretty Lena was settled with us on July 31, 2022. She originally came from Italy and was rehomed into a foster family here in Germany, where she lived for several months. The people there were very attentive to Lena, but were overwhelmed by her fears and asked for help because she hasn't really gotten to know many people and still needs a lot of support. That's why Lena came to us. Since she's been with us, she's made great progress. Although she's still reserved and somewhat shy, she's now more comfortable around us, takes treats from us, and even lets some of our staff members pet her in the room. She just needs a bit more time to build trust. Lena can stay alone at home and gets along well with most dogs. We're currently working on getting her used to wearing a harness and walking on a leash. We're looking for people with experience with anxious dogs who live in a rural area and are in a house or apartment with a securely fenced garden. Ideally, they would already have a dog or dogs that can help Lena feel safe. These beautiful photos were taken in the summer of 2023: Lena in March 2025. Die hübsche Lena ist am 31. Juli 2022 bei uns eingezogen. Sie stammt ursprünglich aus Italien und wurde in eine Pflegefamilie hier in Deutschland vermittelt, wo sie mehrere Monate lebte. Die Menschen dort bemühten sich sehr um Lena, waren mit ihren Ängsten aber überfordert und baten daher um Hilfe, denn sie hat noch nicht viel kennengerlernt und braucht noch viel Unterstützung. Deshalb kam Lena zu uns. Seit sie da ist, hat sie schon tolle Fortschritte gemacht. Obgleich sie noch immer zurückhaltend bis scheu ist, traut sie sich inzwischen in unsere Nähe, nimmt Leckerchen von uns und läßt sich im Zimmer auch von einigen Mitarbeitern streicheln. Sie braucht einfach etwas länger, um Vertrauen aufzubauen. Lena kann problemlos allein Zuhause bleiben und versteht sich mit den meisten Hunden gut. Zur Zeit arbeiten wir daran, sie an das Tragen eines Geschirres und das Laufen an der Leine zu gewöhnen. Wir suchen für Lena Menschen mit Angsthundeerfahrung, die ländlich und unbedingt in einem Haus/ einer Wohnung mit sicher eingezäuntem Garten leben. Idealerweise in einem Haushalt mit bereits vorhandenem Hund(en), die Lena Sicherheit vermitteln. Diese schönen Fotos sind im Sommer 2023 entstanden: Lena im März 2025.
