Lena

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 6 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal!Lena has found her people! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Little is known about the past of the sibling animals Lena, Cozy, and Knopf, but we want to shape and accompany their future as best we can. All are in a foster home and are well cared for. But this is nothing compared to their own home and their own person with whom they can explore the world together. Their own dog bed, their own environment, their own family. Lena is approximately 6 months old and, like her siblings, will be roughly small to medium-sized. She enchants her surroundings with her loyal gaze, fluffy ears, and short legs in a heartbeat. All four puppies stand out with their friendly, easy-going, and open nature, and it makes no difference whether it's people or other fellow animals. Even with young cats, Lena gets along very well. The prerequisites for a great time together are therefore more than given. Lena unfortunately had an accident and had to undergo a femur head resection, but now she is doing well and is on a good path. For her age, there are still some home tasks to be done. The dog-1×1 must still be taught to her with a positively reinforcing training style – starting with walking on a leash, sit, down, come. If you decide to take on a puppy, these are challenges that can be approached with a good portion of patience, love, and friends. If you are looking for a sweet, friendly, and lively companion, then Lena might be just right. We wish the four siblings a safe and loving home. A home where all four can grow into happy and confident dogs. Should you decide to take her, she will come to you neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas, just like all our other shelter animals. She brings her EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive Lena who would like to give her an own home? Many thanks Jenny! You named Lena!. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Vielen Dank Jenny.! Du hast Lena ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Lena

What life with Lena looks like

Lena is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
