Lena

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 2 months

Lena doesn't need to see the whole world. Seriously. She's already tried it for a while. She had a home in Warsaw for a short time. There were walks around the city, outings, pubs, many new places and many stimuli. And you know what? Lena doesn't dream of being a city influencer. Lena dreams of a person, her chair in the kitchen, a quiet walk and the ability to carefully check with her nose who passed under the bush three hours ago. Because Lena has a problem: she experiences everything a bit too much. A view of a dog? Ooo, DOG! Play? Let's play until everyone collapses! A new place? Forward, quickly, we need to see EVERYTHING! Is someone hugging her human? I'm sorry, what's happening here without me? With a human, Lena is absolutely wonderful. She sleeps curled up, looks deeply into the eyes, packs close and would love to be wherever you are. She loves to sleep on a chair next to a person in the kitchen. Now she's learning something much harder than sitting or pawing. She's learning to let go. On the walk, she's sniffing more often instead of rushing ahead. Instead of checking out the world, she's starting to get to know it calmly. And that's exactly the kind of life we want for her. Not the city center. But also definitely not "a big garden, so the dog can run around." A garden will be a great addition. Walks won't replace it. Lena needs to go out with her human, sniff, explore and learn to function calmly in the world. She just doesn't need to get the whole world at once. What kind of home are we looking for? Rather outside the city or in a really quiet area without cats and other small animals, preferably without another dog - Lena is still learning to respect a dog's "I've had enough" with a human who wants to go on normal, calm, olfactory walks with her without taking her off the leash with someone who understands that Lena's emotions still need to be worked on and with a free chair in the kitchen. This point may be negotiable, but we don't promise. Lena is about 2 years old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. In her February documentation, her clinical condition was described as very good. We're not looking for a person who will show Lena the whole world. We're looking for someone with whom Lena will finally understand that she doesn't need to see everything at once. Adoption announcement. The Foundation is conducting the adoption procedure for Lenka. Adoption 500181920 or 607606125. She is staying in the Zwoleń area.

Lena nie potrzebuje zobaczyć całego świata. Serio. Zamiast zaliczać świat - zaczyna go spokojnie poznawać.

About Lena

What life with Lena looks like

Lena is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
