Lenchen

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Lenchen has found her home! Her story: In early July, Lenchen was able to move into her foster home. The little princess was initially a bit unsure, but quickly got used to her loving foster mom and now loves to have her royal tummy rubbed. Correctly read – Lenchen is a real princess and wants to be treated as such. With her delicate 25 cm and only 4 kg, she is a small, elegant companion who likes to sit on the sofa. Sometimes persuasion is needed to make her sleep in her dog bed and not in her people's bed – after all, she is a real lady! Lenchen already runs well on a leash, is, of course, house-trained – according to the standard of a fine dog lady – and treats her fellow animals like a queen. However, she prefers to be the sole ruler of her toys and the heart of her people. We suspect that a Chihuahuamix is in Lenchen – a breed known for its big personality. Those who know these small personalities know what we mean. At 2 years old, Lenchen has passed puberty and is ready to start a happy future with her new family. As she is a bit sensitive to city noise, we wish for her a life on the outskirts of town or in a rural environment where it is quieter and there is less traffic noise. For Lenchen, we are looking for sensitive people who know that even small dogs need to be properly exercised. People who give her time, to come at her own pace, and who will be loyal to her for a lifetime. Lenchen is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas, and dewormed. Her EU pet passport is already with her and is waiting for you. Many thanks to Angelika D., who gave Lenchen her wonderful name! Date: 14.07.

Stand: 14.07.2025

About Lenchen

What life with Lenchen looks like

Lenchen is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenchen, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenchen?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenchen on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenchen if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenchen already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenchen isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenchen and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
