adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Lenox has found a home! His story: Lenox is a beautiful young puppy with striking markings and a gaze that catches the eye. He shows a friendly, people-oriented, and puppy-like curiosity about everything that happens around him. At the same time, he brings an agreeably balanced demeanor and appears to be very approachable and open for his age. Together with his mother and six siblings, Lenox was found on an open field. His mother was born without a tail, and Lenox has, like some of his siblings, a congenital shortened tail. This peculiarity does not affect him. Due to the current entry requirements, Lenox with his shortened tail cannot be rehomed to Switzerland. Lenox gets along well with other dogs and is already familiar with cats. Visually and by his origin, it is very likely that Lenox has a part of a Herding Dog breed. Herding Dog mixtures often develop into loyal, independent-minded, and watchful companions. They are not just dogs that simply "function," but bring personality, independence, and a certain assertiveness. Lenox therefore seeks people who are consciously choosing this dog type. An ideal home would be in a more rural setting with space and quiet. A life in the middle of the city generally does not suit a dog with a Herding Dog component. Experience with such dogs is advantageous, or alternatively, the willingness to thoroughly familiarize oneself with their characteristics. As a young puppy, of course, Lenox still has to learn everything that goes with being a family dog – from house training to leash walking to safe handling of new situations. A positively trained dog training class can accompany him and his people wonderfully in this. Lenox is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, and brings his EU pet passport. He can be rehomed to the EU starting April 17, 2026. Who will give this special little guy the chance at a loving and suitable home? Many thanks to his namesake, Carolin O. You gave Lenox his name. As of April 14.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 14.04.2026

About Lenox

What life with Lenox looks like

Lenox is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
