Leo

Male · Adult · 4 years

Léo, shot and amputated in Tunisia, still waits for a kind soul to take an interest in him... A loving and responsible family to adopt him for life. In Tunisia, regular hunts are organized to massacre stray dogs and cats: a hell for them trying to survive on the streets! Léo, with his left hind leg injured by a gunshot, moving in great pain, was rescued by a volunteer who entrusted him to the shelter. Then, a benefactor welcomed him in a room. The veterinarian, unfortunately, was obliged to amputate Léo. We have decided to take charge of his expenses and future. He has been treated, vaccinated, followed the rabies vaccination protocol and serology, and all tropical disease tests were negative. He has also undergone neutering. LÉO, x Berger Tripattes, 2 years, 17 kg, for adoption Léo is adorable and very endearing, with a gentle and deep gaze. Léo is marked by his past and needs to regain trust in humans. He requires a patient, gentle, and attentive family who knows dogs and helps him regain a certain serenity. He is very calm and gentle, with no aggression at all. He can be caressed without a problem when lying on his mattress. He does not seek contact with other animals. He weighs 17 kg, is estimated to be 2 years old, and is for adoption near Senonches 28250. To sponsor Léo or apply for his adoption, contact us at: (Dominique)

About Leo

What life with Leo looks like

Leo is a small adult dog waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
