Adopt Leo

Lurcher · Male · Young · 2 years

Everyone meet our next poundie … Leo!💙 This young lad was stray and no one came forward for him. Thankfully we had a foster who took him and he hasn’t looked back!💛 Leo is around 10 months old and is a lurcher. Sadly he came in to our care underweight, however he has good appetite so will gain condition quickly. He’s having a few small meals a day currently… he’s loving everyone second!🌟 He is great with people including dog savvy children, he is brilliant with dogs too. If a dog barks so does he but he is just excited. He loves to play and run with them offlead in the fields! 🐾🐾 Leo is good in the car and picking up lead manners well. He is a leggy lad who doesn’t always know where they are!😜 At the vets, he was a good boy. He allowed a full healthcheck to take place, he’s now started his vaccinations, been flead, wormed and mirco chipped. He is booked in to be neutered once he’s gained some weight. ✔️ We feel this lad could live with or without other dogs and/or dog savvy children. He is a blank canvas and is ready to be moulded in to whatever you wish. He loved his outing and then plenty of cuddles in the evening!😍 Please share this handsome lad so he can find his forever home!🏡 Remember to complete the form below if you’re interested in adoption;

About Leo

What life with Leo looks like

Leo is a small young adult lurcher dog waiting at Almost Home Dog Rescue in North Wales.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
