Leony und Nelly

Mixed Breed · Female

The two charming cat sisters Leony und Nelly were born outside but have now adapted well to life in the house and enjoy the company of humans. Leony, dark brown and white striped, is particularly friendly and trusting. She loves to play, purrs while being petted, and prefers to lie on laps – a true cuddle heart! Nelly, tri-colored and just as playful, is initially more reserved but quickly gains trust. She enjoys being carried and purrs contentedly, showing her loving side. The love and affection of Nelly and Leony, along with Nelly's insatiable need for cuddles, bring great joy to their foster mom every day. Playing with them and watching them learn new things, which they approach with curiosity, make their foster mom's day wonderful. Both cats are absolute dream cats and simply wonderful. Of course, after an adjustment period, the two sisters also want the opportunity for outdoor walks. This cat needs outdoor access.

DE·Show original

About Leony und Nelly

What life with Leony und Nelly looks like

Leony und Nelly is a large adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenhilfe Ulm e.V. in Ulm.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leony und Nelly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leony und Nelly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenhilfe Ulm e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leony und Nelly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leony und Nelly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenhilfe Ulm e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leony und Nelly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leony und Nelly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenhilfe Ulm e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leony und Nelly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
