Leve

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! Leve has found a home! His story: When you look into Leve's eyes, you don't just see a puppy – you see a little personality. With his fluffy fur and that distinctive black-and-white head, from which a cute pinkish-nose pokes out, he draws all the attention. While Leve is not a show dog: either he looks at the camera with a healthy dose of skepticism, or he looks completely lost in thought, like a little dreamer. He is a charming spotted dwarf with his own head who can't be bothered with the hustle and bustle of photo shoots. While others pose, Leve prefers to wait until it's time to really get going. Behind this cute, almost tousled appearance lies a moving story. Leve and his eight siblings – Baxter, Lönne, Peppi, Dolly, Nancy, Biber, Jakko, and Bento – were on the brink of a fate that's hard to imagine: they were already on their way to a Romanian shelter with no return. A one-way ticket to death, which was only averted by a last-minute rescue. Today, Leve shows at his foster home in Bologa every day what a fine, gentle soul he is. Currently, at around 4 kg and 30 cm, he is still a delicate little pup, but we suspect that he will grow into a handsome, medium to large male dog. With a few hound genes possibly mixed in, you get a really clever and eager-to-learn companion who wants to work together with his people. Character-wise, Leve is an absolute sweetheart – gentle, unfathomably loving, and totally uncomplicated in dealing with other dogs and cats. Whoever adopts him gets the full package of life into the home. The puppy stage means, of course, also: accidents on the carpet, sleepless nights, and the curiosity about everything that isn't nailed or glued down. Leve has to learn the dog ABCs, from house training to being left alone, step by step and with a lot of patience. And when puberty kicks in and the hormones start swinging, it will take humor and consistency to turn this little dreamer into the loyal dream dog he is deep down already. At this point, a visit to dog training classes would also be a good idea. Leve cannot stay on his foster home forever – he is eagerly waiting for his people. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas with his EU pet passport into his new life. A heartfelt thank you goes to Paton Oli, who gave Leve his name and thus the chance at a secure, own future. As of: 20.01.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 20.01.2026

About Leve

What life with Leve looks like

Leve is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leve, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leve?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leve on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leve if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leve already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leve isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leve and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
