Levi

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 17 years

Our wonderful senior dog has been assessed at 17 years old. It's very sad that on his doggy retirement, he had to experience homelessness and ended up at the animal shelter… Levi seems to us to be a delicate and non-confrontational dog. We can see that age is taking its toll on him, so we try to ensure he gets some movement. Grandpa on walks tries to sniff around and bravely covers small distances. When Levi arrived at us, he had a terrible abscess in his mouth, and we wanted to alleviate his pain. Our senior is now a few teeth lighter. The procedure went smoothly, and the little one is recovering in the shelter isolation. The truth is that grandpa should now be lounging on a soft bed in his own home, enjoying a peaceful old age. Grandpa now needs warm, loving people who will ensure he has a worthy retirement. This wonderful old man deserves his chance.

PL·Show original

Gdy Levi do nas trafił w paszczy miał okropny stan zapalny, chcieliśmy ulżyć mu bólu i aktualnie nasz seniorek jest lżejszy o kilkanaście zębów. Zabiegł przebiegł bez problemów, a mały dochodzi do siebie w schroniskowe izolatce.

About Levi

What life with Levi looks like

Levi is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Levi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Levi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Levi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Levi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Levi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Levi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Levi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
