Levke

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Levke has found her people! Her story: Levke traveled to a foster home with her sister Anouk in mid-August. At first, Levke needed some time to settle in. Now, she plays with the other dogs in the garden and enjoys cuddles, which helps her relax. Levke has a calm and gentle nature. We are looking for a family for Levke where there isn't so much chaos. Levke is currently around 7 months old and measures about 50 cm in height. We cannot say for sure if Levke is cat-friendly. Levke still needs to learn the whole dog ABC as a young puppy. She has never lived in a house before. Levke should be welcomed into the new home with patience and love. Levke is also approaching puberty. Boundaries are being tested, and previously learned behaviors may be forgotten. Hormones are running wild, and there's often chaos in her head. It's important to support the fosterling with love and a lot of patience. With an education based on positive reinforcement, the foundation for a good bond and deep trust is laid. So, the pretty Levke will also develop into a wonderful everyday companion. A visit to dog training classes is particularly helpful for her development at this time. There, she can play with other fur buddies, make positive experiences, and train the dog ABC together with her person. This not only brings joy but also strengthens the bond between dog and human. Levke is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. She is available now. Who will give their heart to the lovely Levke? We thank the godmother Regina G. for giving Levke her name and thus her identity. As of: 09.09. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Stand: 09.09.2024

About Levke

What life with Levke looks like

Levke is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Levke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Levke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Levke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Levke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Levke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Levke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Levke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
