adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this dog now! Lia can stay forever! Your story: The white-brown magic girl is looking for her people. Gimli, Pandabärli, and Lia – three siblings who were dropped off at the shelter without their mom. No one knows where they came from or how they managed to survive their first few weeks of young life. What is certain is that they had each other. Since their arrival at the animal shelter, they are slowly learning that there are also kind hands, warm voices, and people you can trust. Lia is about four months old and will be medium-sized. Her black-and-white mask, harmonious fur patterns, and gentle gaze make her unmistakable – a small beauty who cautiously approaches the world. At first, she is a bit shy, but once she realizes that no one wants to harm her, she shows her playful, affectionate, and clingy side. She loves to play in familiar surroundings, seek out closeness, and slowly understand that the world also has beautiful sides. Since Lia has only known the shelter so far, everything in her new home will need to be learned from scratch. Things like house training, leash walking, car rides, everyday noises, or a visit to the vet are still new to her. She needs people who have patience, accompany her step by step, and give her the time she needs to feel safe. With gentle guidance, loving encouragement, and calmness, Lia will quickly understand how family life works. Like all young dogs, Lia will soon enter puberty – the phase where young puppies suddenly become braver, question rules, and test how far they can go. With consistent, loving guidance, a sense of humor, and perhaps the support of a positively working dog training class, she will master this time and develop into a confident, balanced companion. Lia travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, flea-treated, and with an EU pet passport after a positive adoption. The adoption fee is 500 Euros. Who will show this charming little female dog that a life full of love, safety, and security awaits her? Many thanks to Sophia! You gave Lia her sweet name. As of: 21.11. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Sophia! Du hast Lia ihren süßen Namen geschenkt. About Lia

What life with Lia looks like

Lia is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
