Date of birth: 03/01/2024. Size: small (8 kg). Health: Dewormed and vaccinated. She arrived weighing 6.8 kg, with her femur head dislocated; rapid tests for filaria, ehrlichia, and anaplasma were all negative (11/02/2026). She has fully recovered from the symptoms of positive leishmaniasis. She underwent surgery on her hip, which was dislocated (04/14/2026); the injury also affected her knee (ligaments, etc.), but there’s no option to repair it. Spayed. At Cuencanimal since: 02/2026. She’s an expert at asking for cuddles, sneaking into laps, and looking at you as if to say, “Hello, yes, I’m tiny and adorable—come here right away!” On the leash, she’s a 10 out of 10: she walks like a true lady, without any drama or fear—she’s even been in a small village, strolling around so calmly, as if she’d been doing it her whole life. It’s a joy to see how affectionate she becomes once she feels safe and comfortable. With strangers, she’s initially reserved, but if you crouch down, you’ll see how she leaps into your arms. With other dogs, it’s pure fun—she loves playing and running around with her buddies. And we believe she’d get along well with cats too (always with proper introductions). History: We received a tip from people connected to the animal shelter—they found her in terrible condition and extremely fearful. They think she was deliberately abandoned; they had to establish a feeding routine just to be able to catch her and contact us to help Lichi. Current situation: Seeing how Lichi has blossomed is one of those moments that makes you feel reconciled with the world.
