Lidy

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Lidy has sadly had to leave her home, as she does not get along with the existing dogs. She is now searching for new people where she can find peace and be herself. The approximately 1.5-year-old, around 60 cm tall mixed-breed female dog has lived in Switzerland for over a year and has adapted well to everyday life there. She is a very cuddly, attentive, and people-oriented female dog who builds a close bond with her trusted people. Spreeing in nature, quiet observation, and extensive cuddle sessions are among her favorite activities. Lidy is a herding dog mix and brings with her typical herding dog traits: She is attentive, independent, and forms a close bond with "her" people. Therefore, she is looking for a quiet, stable environment with clear leadership and as little chaos as possible, where she can feel safe. In everyday life, Lidy shows herself to be a reliable companion: She knows the basic commands, walks well on a leash, and is usually recallable in the off-leash state. She also masters car and gondola rides without problems. Temporary alone time is also possible. As a solo princess, Lidy is an absolute dream dog. However, she does not feel comfortable with other dogs in the household, so she is looking for a home without other dogs. She is familiar with cats. A quiet home without children would be ideal for her. Regarding her diet, it should be noted that Lidy has a food intolerance and currently tolerates horse meat well. Lidy is microchipped, vaccinated, and has an EU pet passport. Who will give Lidy another chance to truly fit in? Thank you, Simone! You gave Lidy a name and thus an identity. As of: 28.04.

About Lidy

What life with Lidy looks like

Lidy is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lidy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lidy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lidy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lidy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lidy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lidy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lidy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
