Lieke

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process The cute Lieke has found her home! Her story: Lieke was surrendered to our shelter with her mother and her two siblings Tango and Quax after being picked up by dog catchers. Lieke is currently still very small and weighs in at just four kilos. She is therefore noticeably lighter than her two brothers and will grow to be a small to medium-sized dog. The little mouse meets people very openly and friendly and enjoys any cuddles. At just three months old, she is of course also very playful and puppy-like. In Lieke one can only fall in love. She looks into the camera with her slim face and dark round eyes attentively and mischievously, and enchants everyone with a smile. Who will fall in love with the little dog lady and give her a life of freedom? Her new family should also be aware that Lieke still does not know the life in a loving family. She still has to learn the whole puppy ABC and puberty is still ahead of her. Here she needs people who can approach her with a lot of love and patience, and maybe also attend some positively working dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. Leash walking, house training, and being left alone are still foreign words to her. During puberty, she will certainly test boundaries and perhaps even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Lieke will definitely become a great lifelong partner. We hope so much that she can now experience the beautiful sides of life and learn that there are people who only want the best for her. Lieke is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport with her and can be adopted after a positive foster home trial. We would also be very happy to have a foster home for the sweet mouse! Who will give her a loving forever home? Many thanks to Claudia! You gave Lieke her name. Date: 10.09.

Vielen Dank an Claudia! Du hast Lieke Ihren Namen geschenkt. About Lieke

What life with Lieke looks like

Lieke is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lieke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lieke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lieke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lieke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lieke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lieke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lieke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
