Liese

European Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

Liese – small rescued cat seeks loving humans The pretty Liese, born in March 2024, is still very new to us at the animal shelter. As a rescued cat, she has had hardly any contact with humans so far and is therefore still very fearful and reserved. For her, we are looking for people with plenty of empathy and heart, who will give her the time to build trust step by step. Liese loves other cats very much – she feels safe in their company and blossoms because of them. Therefore, a cat-friendly companion in the new home would be ideal. Liese would later like the opportunity to explore her surroundings outside as an outdoor cat. Small children should not live in the household, as they would mean too much hustle and bustle for the sensitive female cat. If you would like to meet Liese, please arrange an appointment at animal shelter Lohr under .

About Liese

What life with Liese looks like

Liese is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liese, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liese?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liese on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liese if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liese already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liese isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Wally-Bangert-Tierheim Lohr am Main early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liese and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
