Lili

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Description Lili is special. Not because of her kind, not because of her behavior; rather because of her insane past. She was sighted near the shelter already four years ago, but always in the company of a male dog. Just as the two appeared, they disappeared again. Then, three years ago, Lili got puppies on the street or in an olive grove – four in total. The puppies were secured and brought to the animal shelter – Lili was not so easily caught. She was sighted again, as mentioned before, and then disappeared once more. This winter, it happened again. The snout appeared once more; this time with two additional puppies. These were also secured – without Lili. Eventually, when a live trap was set for another dog, Lili fell into the trap. She was neutered immediately. No one asked about her, no one cared. The only thing that is almost certain is that there are likely more puppies from her – her teats are enormous. That’s about her past. One might have to read this several times. But now to the current status: Lili is a pretty, agreeable, and loving female dog. She’s a real grin-a-minute kind of dog! She loves dogs and people equally and is just waiting for her forever home. Whom should her odyssey end well with? Update 24.04.2026: New pictures, text update: Lili has already been operated on at her second milk gland (the other was removed in January) and is now ready to find a family and spend her remaining years in peace. She is a female dog that shows great loyalty to the person who takes care of her; she is calm and absolutely charming. She likes to go for walks and is still quite active despite her age, but she mostly likes to eat and sleep.15.02.2026: New pictures. In November, Lili was met. She is an absolutely charming, friendly, and quiet female dog that needs a home so much!6.02.2026: New pictures after the operation.26.01.2026: New video. Info: Lili has unfortunately developed mammary tumors: the milk gland on the left was already removed, the milk gland on the right will be removed in March 2026.27.07.2025: New photos. Please note:

About Lili

What life with Lili looks like

Lili is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lili, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lili?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lili on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lili if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lili already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lili isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lili and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
