Lilia & Spucki

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 2 years

Spucki has unfortunately gone through a lot. For years, he and his feline friend Monti survived and ate on the streets, until a resident realized they didn't really belong anywhere. We are very grateful that she didn't look away. The two timid cats were able to be secured thanks to her and the great commitment of a volunteer. They had to rely on themselves for a long time and now had to slowly learn to trust us humans. Unfortunately, the black-and-white Monti recently passed away unexpectedly, and Spucki is now on his own without his longtime buddy in the cat house. But he is very popular with other cats and especially Lilia looks up to him - and Spucki finds her pretty good too. The pretty Lilia has lived on the streets with many other cats. As is often the case with unneutered street cats, she had kittens at least once. Her daughter Lucia and Hetty were lucky, were secured and could now be placed together. Lilia has found herself in a room with other timid cats and to our surprise, she already strolled confidently and curiously through the area on the first night. During the day, she also liked to hide near two large cats (Monty and Spucki), who find people just as creepy as she does. Over time, she has especially taken a liking to Spucki. Unfortunately, Lilia still doesn't want anything to do with us. Given her past, that's not unusual. We accompany many timid cats and therefore know that the world can look very different in a few weeks. Even though the mismatched duo is slowly getting used to the presence of people and especially Spucki is making great progress with his caregivers, they are absolutely not suitable for cat beginners or children. You have to approach the two with caution, calmness, and above all, a lot of patience. We will observe and report here how they develop. In their future home, Lilia and Spucki should be allowed to roam around outside again after a long period of adjustment.

About Lilia & Spucki

What life with Lilia & Spucki looks like

Lilia & Spucki is a large young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Bonn in Bonn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilia & Spucki, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilia & Spucki?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bonn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilia & Spucki on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilia & Spucki if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bonn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilia & Spucki already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilia & Spucki isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bonn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilia & Spucki and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
