Lilith

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Lilith - A cautious dog lady with a big heart is looking for her home. Our dear Lilith is one of the first dogs in our Bulgarian partner animal shelter and has been living there for many years. She has adjusted to life in the animal shelter, but deep in her heart she longs most of all to finally find her own people. Lilith is an approximately 9-year-old female dog with a refined, sensitive nature. She belongs to the dogs that do not easily give their trust, but when she realizes that someone means well with her, she shows her loving and affectionate side. Then she enjoys closeness and attention very much. Towards strangers, Lilith is initially shy and reserved. She needs time to get to know new people and situations. In doing so, she shows no aggression, but simply withdraws. Lilith is compatible with other dogs. She lives peacefully in a pack and shows herself to be social and friendly. For Lilith, we are looking for a quiet home with understanding, experienced dog people who meet her with patience, calmness and understanding. Since she does not know life in a house, she has a lot to learn. However, with time, love and a clear structure, she will gradually open up and gain confidence. We are convinced: With the right people by her side, Lilith will become a loyal, gentle companion who captures the hearts of her people even in the storm. Who will give Lilith the chance for a life full of love, security and safety - as she has long deserved? The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations with them and need time to adjust to their new life. If you have a serious interest in adopting Lilith, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Aid. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home.

About Lilith

What life with Lilith looks like

Lilith is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilith, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilith?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilith on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilith if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilith already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilith isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilith and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
