Lilith

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Lilith's story begins with her mother, Lila, who came into the care of our Spanish partners by the end of 2022. The clever female dog had caught attention when she and her friend, Toro, wandered the countryside. Determined to help these two wanderers, the team began feeding the pair, hoping they would eventually overcome their shyness and find a home. But Lila was quick and knew all the hiding spots in the region, and so it came to pass: Lila had a litter in October. The animal welfare workers desperately searched for the babies, but unfortunately, they found only one dead puppy. Of course, they wanted to spare Lila the pain of losing another, and so they intensified their efforts to catch her. When they finally succeeded and brought Lila to the clinic for spaying, the vet discovered that Lila was pregnant again – thus, Lila went to the shelter and gave birth to a ten-pup litter on February 28, 2023, including Lilith. She was already traveling to her home in Germany in the fall of 2023 – and now she is losing it, all without her own consent. Unfortunately, she is too active for her owners, which does not mean that Lilith is particularly hyper or cannot settle down. Rather, the health condition of the two-leggeds does not allow for an active young puppy to get enough exercise, and so it is, despite the sadness, a decision in the interest of the puppy to find a new home for Lilith. With her long legs and slender build, Lilith is a true beauty. She is open with people, shows no shyness or fear, and has already grasped how life in the house works. She gets along well with her fellow animals, is friendly to everyone, travels well in the car, and can already stay alone. Of course, a little backfisch like Lilith likes to play with toys or other dogs, and she is never rough or thoughtless. Leash manners, house training, and even small tricks are a piece of cake for a true "Cleverle" like Lilith. Lilith's family has nothing, but absolutely nothing, negative to say about this loving and cheerful piece of gold, and with Lilith, any dog lover – whether you consider yourself a true pro or a beginner in dog care for our pretty girl – will surely be enriched. The best thing to do is to write a love letter, pardon, an inquiry to Lilith's foster parent today, so you can soon convince yourself of the qualities of this little sugar cube.

About Lilith

What life with Lilith looks like

Lilith is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilith, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilith?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilith on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilith if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilith already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilith isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilith and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
