adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! The wonderful and charming Lilleby is ready for a new life. Lilleby was rescued from the public shelter Zalau, where animals are still being killed. Lilleby is very loving and obedient. It's clear that she is accustomed to handling by humans – she walks nicely on the leash, enjoys being petted, and is playful and silly in the presence of people she knows. She has a medium size of 53 cm and a weight of about 26 kg. She gets along well with her fellow animals. As the staff at the public animal shelter informed us, she is a Cane Corso-mixed breed. Unfortunately, her ears and tail are docked, so she is not allowed to enter Switzerland. She had some deep wounds on her hind legs. These were treated and are now about 80% healed. It is expected that the wound will fully heal, but some scarring is likely to remain. The nature of the Cane Corso is extremely loyal, friendly, child-friendly, and playful. Very little can unsettle him. This stoic calmness makes this fur-nose a great family dog with a high threshold for excitement. At the same time, the imposing four-legged friend possesses a pronounced protective and watchful drive that must be led with sensitivity and consistency. When it comes to defending his "pack," he is extremely persistent. For the clingy dog, it is natural to protect his loved ones, as well as home and property, from impending dangers. Outside of his territory, however, the Cane Corso is generally reserved or indifferent towards strangers. The A and O for this dog breed are optimal socialization and consistent training, which ensures that the obedient dog can display and develop his positive character traits. In the federal states of Bavaria and Brandenburg, the Cane Corso is listed in category 2 of the Rasseliste. To enter these states and be exempt from the leash and muzzling requirements, a behavioral assessment is required. Despite the small hurdles, Lilleby hopes very much to find her people soon. She has left her childhood and her past behind, just as she has left her wounds. Now she can start anew. If you have any questions regarding the entry requirements for Lilleby, we are happy to advise you. Lilleby travels microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with her EU pet passport in her luggage. She would also be happy to stay in a foster home. Thank you, Nina N.! You have given Lilleby the chance at a happy new start through the namingsponsoring. As of 28.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Lilleby

What life with Lilleby looks like

Lilleby is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilleby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilleby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilleby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilleby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilleby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilleby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilleby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
