Lillemor

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Female | 3 years | Social and cuddly | Do not like to be much alone Little mother is a very social, gorgeous and determined lady! She'd like to lie in her lap for a long time, and she'd like to sleep on top of you at night. She therefore wants to go to a home that has a lot of time for a cat. She can't spend much time alone, which makes her very angry. So much attention and cuddling is received with thanks. In return, you get a very nice and affectionate cat. She may be a little rough with other cats, but is now going along with several others. It mills a little for them, and she puts the youngest in place. We think she's about three years old. She has polydactyly, that is, more toes than usual. In popular parlance, this is called a ship tax. That's why she's got a little big forepaws. It must be followed up a little extra so that the extra claw does not grow around and into the paw. She'd like to have a home where she can go out for a while, too. Before purchasing an animal, it is important to think carefully. Regardless of the species, there are great obligations! Read up on the animal's needs, feel free to use our guides for cats, dogs and rabbits - they can be found under the hashtag "Animal husbandry". Please let us know if you have any questions.

About Lillemor

What life with Lillemor looks like

Lillemor is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Hedmark in Hamar.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lillemor, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lillemor?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Hedmark handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lillemor on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lillemor if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Hedmark will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lillemor already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lillemor isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge Hedmark early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lillemor and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
