Adopt Lillifee

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Our Lillifee is approximately 2–3 years old and a very special cat seeking people with patience, understanding, and cat experience. When she first came to us, she was so overwhelmed in the cat room that she hardly left her secure little bed. The situation had stressed her out so much that she didn't even dare to go to the toilet. Therefore, she was later allowed to move into our outdoor enclosure – and there, she gradually showed a different side of herself. Lillifee began to thaw out cautiously, actively seeking contact with other cats, and clearly demonstrated how social she actually is. Especially with our tomcat Silvester, she has now formed a friendship – the two can therefore be rehomed together very happily. Towards people, Lillifee remains shy and cautious, but not uninterested. She usually sits in a good, visible spot somewhere in the room, observing everything very closely and now also allowing people to come quite close to her. With lots of time, calmness, and patience, we definitely see potential for more trust in her. For Lillifee, we wish for a quiet home with experienced cat owners who do not have any expectations of her and simply give her time to settle in. Additionally, she needs unrestricted access in a quiet environment. Lillifee wishes for:

About Lillifee

What life with Lillifee looks like

Lillifee is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lillifee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lillifee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lillifee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lillifee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lillifee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lillifee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Trier und Umgebung e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lillifee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
