Lilly

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Lilly (3) is a mixed breed dog looking for an experienced home as a single pet. "Hello everyone, we are sadly having to part with our 3-year-old female Lilly due to changes in our living situation and the arrival of a baby. We can no longer provide her with the time and space she needs and deserves based on her breed requirements. About Lilly: Breed: Mixed Age: 3 years Health: Fully vaccinated (vaccination passport available) She is also spayed. She has a small kink in her tail. We suspect that she was bitten by another dog from her previous owner. No other pre-existing conditions are known. Important characteristics: Lilly has a strong personality. She does not get along with other small dogs, cats or other small pets. She must be kept as a single pet. Otherwise, she is very docile and affectionate. Since the arrival of a baby is the reason for our changed situation, we are only willing to place her in a home without young children. The dog and the baby currently get along well, but we cannot say with certainty how tolerant the dog will be of a toddler. The new home: Home: We give Lilly exclusively to experienced and responsible dog owners. You should: Have the necessary space for a large, strong dog (ideally a house with a securely fenced garden). Be physically and mentally able to lead a dog. No other small animals or young children in the household. It is extremely important to us where Lilly goes. The rule applies absolutely: place before price! A deposit of €200 will be charged to ensure that she ends up in good hands. Please write us a message if you are interested, briefly describing your dog experience and your living situation. Unrealistic or incomplete inquiries will not be answered. We look forward to getting to know you." If you have any further questions or interest please contact

About Lilly

What life with Lilly looks like

Lilly is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier in Bingen am Rhein.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
