Lilly

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

Lilly – Seeking Safety and Trust The approximately two-year-old Lilly has experienced more in her young life than a cat should. As a private surrender, she came to us at our shelter – previously, she was passed around and had to constantly change homes. These many changes have left their mark: Lilly arrived with us uncertain and traumatized. However, behind her cautious and sometimes fearful demeanor lies a very special cat. Once Lilly has built trust, she shows her loving side: she enjoys the company of familiar people and allows herself to be petted. However, her fear has not yet been overcome. In situations that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable for her, she can also express defensive behavior. Therefore, Lilly needs people with patience, understanding, and a fine sense of her boundaries. For Lilly, we wish for a quiet home without small children where she can live as an indoor cat. A stable, loving daily routine and people who do not pressure her but instead provide her with a sense of security are the key to her blossoming further. Lilly does not seek a perfect home – she seeks the right one. A place where she can finally belong.

About Lilly

What life with Lilly looks like

Lilly is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Plauen in Plauen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Plauen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Plauen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Plauen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
