Lilly

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Lilly, a beautiful 3-year-old female dog, is looking for a new home. She is a loving, affectionate, and simply wonderful dog. She was brought to Germany from Italy as a puppy to a foster home and immediately won everyone's hearts, which is why she was allowed to stay. Unfortunately, fate sometimes has other plans and her owner has fallen seriously ill. She can no longer care for Lilly as she needs, and has reluctantly decided to find a new home for Lilly. A home where Lilly can get long walks, lots of action and exercise, because Lilly is an absolute athlete. Whether jogging, cycling or dog sledding - no matter what, as long as Lilly is moving. When she is exhausted, Lilly is also a very cuddly dog who likes to snuggle under the blanket and seek out intense physical contact. She would love to be petted all day, she loves it very much. She currently lives with other dogs and cats in one household, which we can also imagine in the future. Lilly brings a few uncertainties with her - she is initially skeptical of strangers and barks when someone enters her home. After a few minutes and calm sniffing, everything is forgotten and Lilly would love to climb onto your lap to be petted. When walking, Lilly can generally be let off leash, the recall works well. However, she also shows hunting instinct and unfamiliar things or strangers can unsettle her - then she runs away and hides. This should be further trained in the new home. Lilly is house trained, walks well on a leash and is looking forward to every adventure. We wish Lilly an active home with people who give her security and conquer the world with her. The wonderful dog deserves to finally arrive forever.

About Lilly

What life with Lilly looks like

Lilly is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lilly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lilly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lilly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lilly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lilly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lilly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lilly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
