Adopt Lily AVAILABLE
Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months
Lily is a beautiful 4-month-old crossbreed with a story that makes her all the more special. She and her five siblings were found abandoned in a cardboard box in Bosnia during freezing conditions when they were just 3 weeks old. Sadly, two of her siblings didn’t survive. Thanks to the support of Islay Dog Rescue and a local Bosnian shelter, Lily and her remaining siblings—Lucy, Louis, and Lucky—were brought safely to the UK for a second chance at life. Now thriving, Lily is a happy, healthy, and energetic puppy weighing 5.3kg, and she’s expected to grow into a small-to-medium-sized dog. She’s full of life and curiosity, just beginning her big adventure, and is looking for a loving home to guide her along the way. Lily hasn’t lived in a home before, so she’ll need support with all aspects of puppy training, including toilet training. She’s already started socialisation and lead training with staff and volunteers and is doing brilliantly. She’s friendly with both people and other dogs, and although she hasn’t yet met children, her gentle and affectionate nature suggests she could happily live in a family home—with supervised interactions with children, as with any young pup. As with many shelter raised puppies, Lily may initially be unsure of everyday household noises such as the TV or hoover. With patience, reassurance, and time, she will quickly learn that these new experiences are nothing to worry about. Could you be the one to give Lily the loving home she deserves? Our rescue centre relies on the support of the community to look after the dogs in its care.
