Lily

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Mama Lily, born January 2019 and approximately 51 cm tall, is a friendly, reserved, and very modest female dog. She was one of the so-called "170 Abandoned" - dogs that were left behind after the takeover of a shelter without any care or prospects. Shortly after her rescue, she gave birth to a litter of beautiful puppies in our care. These found a home quite quickly. Mama Lily and her companion Papa Max stayed behind for a longer time. Since December 2025, they have been living on a loving foster home in Germany and are finally able to experience how beautiful life in security can be. Mama Lily is a calm, gentle dog with a big heart. She is initially a bit cautious and shy when meeting strangers, but she makes great progress at her own pace. With patience, understanding, and loving companionship, she gains more and more trust - and every small success is something very special. Sometimes she also gets playful and happily hops around the yard with a toy. The little dog Käthe in the foster family helps her to thaw. Mama Lily gets along well with other dogs. She drives problem-free in the car and already walks nicely on a leash. She no longer needs long hikes or a lot of action. She much prefers relaxed walks, quiet cuddling moments, and a peaceful environment. For Lily, we wish a quiet home, preferably in a rural area, with a securely fenced garden or a large property where she can enjoy the sun and just be a dog. People who give her time to settle in and love her as she is will find a loyal and grateful companion in Lily. Would you like to meet Lily? Then please feel free to contact us with a short description of yourself and your home. Then we will arrange a date for a joint meeting and a walk. Mama Lily is vaccinated, chipped, and spayed and will be placed with a protection contract after a positive pre-check.

About Lily

What life with Lily looks like

Lily is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lily, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lily?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lily on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lily if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lily already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lily isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lily and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
