Lily

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

I'm Lily, a little shepherd mix born on 11/01/24. I came to France from Spain in June to try to find my forever family. I'm a real fighter because life hasn't been kind to me. I arrived with an injured back leg. An x-ray showed that my bones were broken and healed, but not properly. It wasn't easy to walk and I sometimes had pain when playing with friends. The vet said the best thing for me was to remove the troublesome leg. Some people have a little extra, but I have a little less. I had surgery on Wednesday, September 2nd. I've recovered well from the operation and I'm running and playing with my friends again without any problems. My surgery and care cost money, and I'd like the shelter to be helped to pay the bill (photo attached). Every donation, no matter how small, will be welcome. You can donate by mailing a check directly to the shelter or by transfer to the account. Don't forget to indicate that it's a donation for me, "Lily la plus belle" Thank you in advance for your help 🙏 And by the way, I'm still waiting for MY family. So, a quick introduction. I'm friendly with humans, adults or children. I'm clean, good in my absence, good in the car. I could live in an apartment if there aren't too many stairs to climb. If you live in a house, I could live with you.

About Lily

What life with Lily looks like

Lily is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Refuge Animalier du Pays de Landerneau in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lily, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lily?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge Animalier du Pays de Landerneau handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lily on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lily if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refuge Animalier du Pays de Landerneau will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lily already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lily isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge Animalier du Pays de Landerneau early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lily and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
