LINA

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

A LINA was found on the street. She is an extremely gentle dog, it's rare to find such a sweet female dog. She is used to people, very affectionate, loves attention, and when she forms a bond with someone, she follows that person like a shadow throughout the day at the shelter. She is very patient and kind with children. She gets along very well with other dogs, always being kind, friendly, and respectful. She walks well on a leash. LINA cannot be left alone at home, she becomes anxious and destroys things, so she was previously adopted but ended up being returned for this reason. She is not recommended to live in an apartment. She may adapt better to a house with an outdoor space, however it is important to note that she has a tendency to jump over fences, so low walls may not be safe. LINA will be delivered vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, and with a microchip.

PT·Show original

About LINA

What life with LINA looks like

LINA is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at O Cantinho da Milu in Lisbon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇹Adopting from Portugal

Portuguese rescues coordinate extensively with European rescue networks for cross-border placements, especially for galgos and podencos. Sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID are standard. Adoption fees typically cover the full vet workup.

Frequently asked

Adopting LINA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LINA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. O Cantinho da Milu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LINA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LINA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — O Cantinho da Milu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is LINA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LINA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with O Cantinho da Milu early rather than rehoming privately; they know LINA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
