Lince

European Shorthair · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Hello! My name is Lince and I'm looking for my forever human: patient, understanding and with lots of treats. 🐯🌾 I'm 3 years old and I'm a gorgeous tabby cat. Living up to my name, I have a spectacular wild appearance, but I'm also a bit skittish like real lynxes. I'm a very nervous cat and I'm quite afraid and distrustful of people's touch. Physical contact scares me at first and I need my own space to feel safe. I know I need a lot of time and patience to lose that fear, but I have a huge potential as a house cat. Behind that shield of shyness there is a wonderful companion waiting to blossom. Also, I have a secret: I go completely crazy for treats! The rich cans and treats are the direct key to my heart. That's right, I get so anxious and excited that sometimes I throw my paw when you approach your hand to give them to me, so you'll have to be a little careful while I learn to manage it. I'm looking for a quiet home where my times are respected. If you know how to use the bribe of treats with love and a lot of calm, I promise you will see the great house cat that I am inside. Do you have a packet of treats for me? 🖤🐾

¡Hola! 🖤🐾

About Lince

What life with Lince looks like

Lince is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid in Madrid.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lince, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lince?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lince on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lince if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lince already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lince isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Centro de Proteccion Animal de Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lince and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
