Linda

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Linda spent her entire life on the streets in a new residential area of Rostock. She was born there and her entire life was supported by neighbors. She, however, did not become a cuddly cat. Now, her "caretakers" are old and in need of help, and they asked us to take in Linda. It was reported that the old wild kitten had problems eating, so we took her to the vet right after catching her. Her teeth were in such a terrible condition that they all had to be removed. But without teeth, cats can still manage just fine. In the days after the operation, Linda did not really want to eat. Knowing that liquid food is a good remedy for loss of appetite, we offered her some. And behold, she liked it. Gradually, she then also started eating solid food again and was doing well. As a thank you for the food, however, we only ever received a hiss when we came too close. Since Linda is one of those cats that do not like the proximity of humans, we let her after her recovery and acclimatization to our feeding station on the farm join the other cats in the outdoor enclosure.

DE·Show original

About Linda

What life with Linda looks like

Linda is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Kleiner Gnadenhof e.V. in Schwaan / OT Letschow.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kleiner Gnadenhof e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kleiner Gnadenhof e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kleiner Gnadenhof e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
