Linda

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 11 years

Linda, a Bodeguero mix, is seeking a place for her golden years - full of love, warmth, and security. Linda entered the shelter in June 2026. She is approximately 11 years old and was given up by her owner. Due to her age, he no longer wanted her and got rid of her. Such things are always infinitely sad. Since then, the dear senior has been sitting in the shelter waiting - for people who can show her once again how beautiful a home can be. Linda doesn't want much. A soft bed. Loving hands that stroke her. People with whom she feels safe and at home. Linda is an incredibly lovable dog and she is not old yet. She is friendly to other dogs and has already come together with many congeners of different ages and sizes - young and old, small and large. While playing and running she still enjoys her four-legged shelter companions and equally enjoys every attention from the volunteers. But especially for older dogs, there are limited possibilities to leave the shelter again. While younger dogs are often discovered quickly, seniors like Linda are too often overlooked. They have so much love to give. Nobody should have to spend their twilight years behind bars. Therefore, we urgently seek a foster home or - even better - her own family forever for Linda. She has still much to give - her gratitude, her loyalty and the special love that only an older dog can give. We can imagine the little one well with older people who are just as rushing on like Linda and would like to enjoy life with a dog. Who gives Linda the chance of a loving next chapter in her life? She deserves it so much. Here is Linda's video

About Linda

What life with Linda looks like

Linda is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
