Adopt Linnea

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Animal welfare worker: Virginia Georgieva, born: approximately February 2025, gender: female, location: Bulgaria, spayed: yes, FIV test: negative, FeLV test: negative, disabilities: no, compatible with: children: not known, cats: yes, dogs: not known, requirements: NONE, single housing only, NO outdoor access, balcony or terrace desired (if available, security is required). Linnea comes from a place where up to 40 cats once lived. When the owner passed away in 2025, the animals were suddenly completely neglected and had to fend for themselves. Soon after, help was organized to secure the cats and take them out of this situation. Virginia was asked for support and acted immediately. She participated in the rescue operation and was able to take some of the cats into her shelter, including the small Linnea. Linnea is a cautious and reserved cat who is still not fully thawed towards people. At first, she was very timid, and even though she has now adjusted somewhat in the shelter, she remains skeptical when dealing with people. She needs a lot of peace and distance to feel safe. When she retreats to her den, she allows Virginia to gently pet her, but Linnea remains skeptical and somewhat on guard. In contrast, Linnea gets along very well with other cats. She feels comfortable in her cat group, shows no fear, and actively seeks the company of her feline companions. She also enjoys living with other cats and appears much more relaxed. Linnea seeks people with a kind heart and sensitivity who do not have expectations of her, but give her the time she needs. In a quiet home without chaos, she will not become a lap cat overnight, but for connoisseurs and lovers of cautious souls, she is a real asset. Who has a free spot and the necessary calm to show Linnea that she has finally arrived and is safe?

About Linnea

What life with Linnea looks like

Linnea is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linnea, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linnea?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linnea on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linnea if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linnea already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linnea isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linnea and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
