Linus

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Linus has found its own home! His story: Linus, our little fox, has been on a foster home since June and is looking for a family from here. Linus is about 4 months old and a little fluffball. As he grows, Linus will become medium-sized. Puppy-like, he is a young and playful explorer, looking for a safe environment and surroundings to grow into an alert and balanced male dog. Just like his sister, Linus stands out through his nice, open, and uncomplicated nature. He gets along very well with other dogs, regardless of size, age, or temperament. The contact with cats has not yet been tested. The little Linus is looking for his own people who don’t expect much from him at first and show him how a normal and safe dog life works. Linus is still a very young dog and must learn according to his age. The dog ABC must be taught to him with a positive and encouraging upbringing style – starting with house training and leash walking. During the first year of life, dogs should not be left alone as much as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is still ahead. And it affects every dog, whether small or large, male or female. The hormone chaos turns the little one’s life upside down. They often forget everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently but lovingly during this phase. And there is also good news: Just like with us humans, this phase will also pass! And what remains is a loyal dog soul with which you will hopefully spend many years together, enjoy many walks, and collect new experiences. If you decide to adopt the little male dog, he will come to you like all our shelter animals microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be released after a positive release. Who will give the little fluffball Linus a safe and loving home? Linus looks forward to your inquiry and with a bit of luck, he can already be part of your life soon. Many thanks, Ariane! You named Linus! Date: 24.06.

Vielen Dank Ariane! Du hast Linus seinen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 24.06.2024

About Linus

What life with Linus looks like

Linus is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Linus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Linus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Linus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Linus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Linus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Linus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Linus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
