Lisa

Mixed Breed · Unknown

On October 27th, Lisa lost her home - the safe place where she had lived for three years. Unfortunately, her beloved owner passed away. Fortunately, we were able to find an emergency solution for the little Lisa! This has averted the worst and Lisa gets a chance. We are incredibly grateful for that! Lisa is not just a "somewhat shy" dog. She is a very anxious, a real fear dog. That's why she needs people who understand her fears, do not pressure her and meet her with a lot of calm, patience and empathy. We are therefore consciously looking for a really dog-experienced foster home or a suitable home, ideally with experience in dealing with fear dogs. We are looking for people who know what it means to give an anxious dog time. People who do not make demands on her, do not overload her and give her the opportunity to build trust at her own pace. Lisa gets along well with other dogs. A confident dog companion could possibly even help her to orient herself and gain security. The emergency solution we found gives us some breathing room, but it is not meant to be a permanent solution. Please help us continue to find the right people for Lisa! Lisa does not need just any place. She needs the right place!

DE·Show original

About Lisa

What life with Lisa looks like

Lisa is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Marsberg e.V. in Marsberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lisa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lisa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Marsberg e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lisa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lisa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Marsberg e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lisa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lisa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Marsberg e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lisa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
