Lisette

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Lisette is not yet sponsored. Inside, they prefer to be separated from the pack of six, which I think is too dynamic for them. I made them a small nest, separated by a baby gate so they are "together but not too much." Plus, I see them all the time and Nougat has even taken to barking to get a cuddle. For outside, it depends on the time; sometimes they play with the others, but sometimes Lisette prefers to be alone, so I let them out separately so she can enjoy herself in peace. However, I have to limit their outings because Lisette has open sores that I treat with betadine and cream, but wet grass isn't helping. For now, the weather isn't favorable, so I haven't dared to try taking them out in the carts, but I'm crossing my fingers. Instead, I took them for a ride in the bicycle trailer, and they were super curious. Otherwise, we keep them occupied as we can. I'm discovering the daily life of disabled dogs, so we play hide-and-seek with dry kibble in the grass, lots of cuddles because they ask for them, activities with large beef tendons for gnawing, and taste tests on the licking mats (Nougat prefers kiri and Lisette likes apple compote, but chicken pâté is a unanimous favorite). History:

FR·Show original

About Lisette

What life with Lisette looks like

Lisette is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lisette, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lisette?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lisette on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lisette if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lisette already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lisette isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lisette and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
