adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Dog Mama Little Bit could travel to Mannheim in her foster home at the end of December. At first, she was very frightened and fell into a kind of shock after being separated from her puppies. However, over time, the approximately 3.5-year-old female dog opens up and shows what a gentle and loving being lies within. She has built a good bond with her foster mom. Little Bit is house-trained, already walks properly on a leash, and gets along well with small, familiar dogs. Despite these beautiful progressions, she is likely to remain a rather reserved female dog who needs time to build trust and feel safe. Little is known about her past. It is certain, however, that she was abandoned pregnant on a cemetery and had to fend for herself there. During a strong rainstorm, she gave birth to her five puppies. On the same day, floods occurred, so she individually brought her puppies to safety under a woodpile. Fortunately, the woodpile belonged to the sister of our helper Tina. Her husband built a makeshift shelter for the little family, ensuring that Little Bit and her puppies were safe. For Little Bit, we wish for a quiet home with patient people who can give her the time she needs and not place any expectations on her. An independent only dog can provide her with additional security, as well as a small garden. Due to her timidity, no children should live in the household. Little Bit is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated and possesses a valid EU pet passport. If Little Bit has touched your heart and you would like to give her a loving and patient home, we look forward to your message. A heartfelt thank you goes to Jennifer Z., who gave Little Bit the chance at a new life through her nametag sponsorship. As of: 13.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Little Bit darf für immer bleiben! Stand: 13.04.2026

About Little Bit

What life with Little Bit looks like

Little Bit is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Little Bit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Little Bit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Little Bit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Little Bit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Little Bit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Little Bit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Little Bit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
