Adopt Little Thing

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

Introducing the smallest dude around… little thing! Aptly named, little thing is a pint sized pup who has bundles of energy to go around! LT is most likely a jack Russel cross and is around 8-10 months old ! He arrived in our care as a stray and was never claimed so he is now looking for his forever home. We would describe little thing in three words… BUNDLE OF FUN! This guy may be small but his love and energy is almighty! He absolutely loves his walks with our volunteers and could walk for miles. But LT also has a calm and loving side to him and likes to cuddle up in your lap after a long walk for some down time. We believe that Little Thing would be best suited to an active home that love to go on adventures. He would benefit from attending training classes to show him the ropes of life and teach him new skills. He could potentially live with children of any age, cats and neutered resident dogs , depending on intros done at the centre.

About Little Thing

What life with Little Thing looks like

Little Thing is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Cardiff Dogs Home.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Little Thing, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Little Thing?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cardiff Dogs Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Little Thing on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Little Thing if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cardiff Dogs Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Little Thing already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Little Thing isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cardiff Dogs Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Little Thing and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
