adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this puppy now! The little Liv has a name program. The name comes from Swedish and means "the life." The little magic mouse Liv is ready to rock her life with you. At about 12 weeks old and weighing around 3 kilograms, the sweet mouse is looking for the perfect companion. When fully grown, Liv will likely be medium to large. Liv is a very curious, active, and playful puppy who gets along well with other dogs. Whether she also gets along with cats has unfortunately not yet been tested. As Liv could be a German Shepherd mix, she will be challenged both physically and mentally. Hunting dogs are used to thinking and working independently. Therefore, she needs tasks that challenge her mentally. Sniffing games, intelligence toys, or learning tricks are perfect for this. Additionally, hunting dogs are very attentive and learn quickly. Unfortunately, this also applies to unwanted behavior. Therefore, clear rules and consequences are important from the start. Since hunting dogs can often develop a protective instinct, it is important to familiarize them early with different people, dogs, and situations. This prevents insecurities and promotes a balanced character. Liv therefore still has a lot to learn, and house training is not going so well yet. The little mouse also cannot be left alone yet and therefore needs a lot of company in the first phase. After all, she is still a baby. Nevertheless, Liv will also soon enter puberty. We are therefore looking for a family that enjoys working with a young puppy who has already experienced occasional memory lapses and who has the time and desire to explore the world with her. Liv travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to her new home. She also has her EU pet passport in her luggage. After a positive But also a foster home would be a good start for her. If you can imagine giving a young female dog a home, then contact us. Liv is waiting for your request! Thank you, Antje H. You gave Liv her name and thus her identity. As of: 15.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.08.2025

About Liv

What life with Liv looks like

Liv is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liv, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liv?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liv on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liv if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liv already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liv isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liv and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
