Adopt Livi

Mixed Breed · Female

Fremdvermittlung Livi is a female dog who is approximately 3 years old, weighing around 27 kg and standing about 55 cm at the shoulder. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Reluctantly, I have decided to find her a new home because I have realized that I can no longer meet the time, organizational, and financial commitments of dog ownership alone in the long term. This decision is not easy and has nothing to do with her as a dog – Livi is truly a wonderful companion. Livi originally came from animal welfare and has lived with me for about a year. During this time, we have made many progress together: She has learned basic commands and adapted to many things she did not know from her previous life on the street. When Livi arrived with me, she was still very frightened and suspicious. Now, she is much more open and would like to sniff every person she meets. She also takes cuddles very well now. She is a loving and curious female dog who loves to run and play. She especially enjoys organizing races with other dogs. Driving also works well for her now. From her nature, Livi is very lively, but also enjoys her quiet phases and likes to retreat to relax. After walks or playtime, she likes to lie down and rest. When there are loud noises or in new environments, she sometimes needs a little security from her trusted people, but she usually adapts to new situations and people relatively quickly. Since Livi is an especially sensitive dog, I wish for her people who are attentive and empathetic to her. If something is uncomfortable for her, she often shows it very subtly, for example by standing still and not moving.

About Livi

What life with Livi looks like

Livi is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier in Bingen am Rhein.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Livi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Livi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Livi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Livi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Livi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Livi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein M.u.T. Mensch und Tier early rather than rehoming privately; they know Livi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
