adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Liz has found its own home! Her story: Eyes wide open – the sweet Liz is here! Liz is a particularly sweet puppy. She has soft, short, black fur with brown patches on her pretty face and on her chest and legs. Her dear and faithful gaze from her shiny, black button eyes touches every dog person. Liz was allowed to travel to Germany to her foster family at the beginning of October. Despite the long journey and the experiences from the crowded public shelter, she is simply there, present, completely carefree, cheerful, relaxed, and exceptionally sweet. The lively little mouse is not afraid of anything and wins everyone over. The little puppy girl is very attached to people, jumps up onto their laps without hesitation, and loves all kinds of snuggle items. Although she is one of the smallest in the pack, she gets along very well with everyone from the start, whether dogs or horses, and is typically playful. The little Liz would definitely make a good companion or riding companion dog. She simply runs along like a little flash and if a dog bed is already occupied, she snuggles right in. The little mouse can be easily fitted with a harness and goes pretty well on a leash. The other dogs look on as she learns how to be housebroken, and sometimes it works. Liz is expected to reach a medium size and will fit into any dog-loving family. However, her puberty will not be far off, and this is also a time when the foundations for the rest of her life are set for dogs. Therefore, we recommend that her new family work with a positively trained dog class to strengthen the bond with her. Originally, Liz came from Baia Mare, Romania.

About Liz

What life with Liz looks like

Liz is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
