Liza

Mixed Breed · Male

Liza arrived at our animal shelter in the third week of December 2024 from Ożarów Mazowiecki. And no one was looking for this beautiful girl 🙁 But Liza definitely had a home. Upon seeing the leash, she is very happy, which allows us to assume that walks are not foreign to her. In fact, she walks on the leash beautifully, passing by other dogs without pulling towards them. Walks clearly invigorate her, which Liza announces with a bark. Liza knows the sit and give a paw commands. She alternates her paws nicely. We are very worried that Liza cannot use the shelter’s building. It’s already cold, with temperatures dropping below zero at night. Currently, Liza lives in one of the shelter’s halls, but without a building, she is definitely not warm. Elza is a gentle, delicate sunbeam. In her eyes, it’s clear that the animal shelter overwhelms her. What happened to the domestic dog that ended up in the animal shelter? We don’t know, but we would very much like for Liza to leave us as quickly as possible.

Liza trafiła do naszego schroniska w trzecim tygodniu grudnia 2024 r. z Ożarowa Mazowieckiego. Liza zna komendy siad i podaj łapę.

About Liza

What life with Liza looks like

Liza is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Liza, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Liza?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Liza on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Liza if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Liza already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Liza isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Liza and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
