Lizzy

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Lizzy is a spayed, vaccinated, chipped medium-sized female dog, approximately 2 years old. We rescued her from a shelter where she had been waiting for a new owner for some time, unfortunately, in vain. Currently, she is safe in our shelter, giving her a chance to be adopted by a family member: Sadly, we do not know what could have happened to her to end up in the shelter, she was supposedly on the street and was very despondent. We are looking for a owner who can take care of her, teach her, play with her and give her a lot of love. Initially, she was shy and withdrawn. Otherwise, she is a calm dog and very kind, she has changed a lot and she likes petting a little. She likes to be close to people, but she is still withdrawn. We are looking for a patient and understanding owner for her. She gets along well with dogs, she is currently living with several dogs and she is constantly getting to know new dogs in our shelter. She is not barking, only if she has a reason, she is a calm dog, she does not have a high exercise need, she likes to relax on the couch and in the yard. She is looking for a loving owner, she would be ideal in a house, mostly with another dog, she can be adopted with a adoption contract. Please support our work so that we can help as many orphans as possible!

Szeretõ gazdit keresünk számára, házban lenne a legideálisabb, másik kutya mellé leginkább, örökbefogadási szerződéssel fogadható örökbe. Kérjük támogassátok a munkánkat, hogy minél több kis árvának tudjunk segíteni!!

About Lizzy

What life with Lizzy looks like

Lizzy is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány in Hungary.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lizzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lizzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lizzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lizzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lizzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lizzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Csupaszív Állatmentő Alapítvány early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lizzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
