Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 7 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Lizzy has found a home together with Abeba! Their story: Cluj, Romania. Lizzy, a ginger/brown patched female cat, is searching for her great happiness! Lizzy and her brother Timi were found with their mother, and together with another small family, the cats were brought to safety. Now, the mother of the kittens has been spayed and can spend the rest of her life in a nice family in Romania. Her children should now also get the great chance to find a new home, far away from lurking dangers. Lizzy is a nearly 7-month-old ginger/brown patched female cat, who, with her young age, is still kitten-like, playful, loving, and tidy. The sweet mouse cat enjoys every second she spends playing and snuggling with other cats. Together, they master every situation, which is why Lizzy should also get a feline roommate in her new home. If there is no other tidy tomcat or a tidy female cat in the new home, Lizzy will surely bring someone with whom she could imagine a shared life. How the patched female cat gets along with dogs has not yet been tested. If you have a secure balcony where Lizzy could lie and relax with you, that would of course be an absolute dream and not just for Lizzy. A free roam would be possible after an appropriate settling-in period, provided you live in a safe area with little traffic. For their travel arrangements, Lizzy, like all our cats and tomcats, is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has already been tested negative for FIV and FeLV. Lizzy also has an EU pet passport and can be submitted after a positive review. Now it's up to you to fill out the application form if you want to give the magic mouse cat a beautiful forever home.

About Lizzy

What life with Lizzy looks like

Lizzy is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lizzy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lizzy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lizzy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lizzy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lizzy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lizzy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lizzy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
