Adopt Lizzy-

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 16 years

Ah those Lizzy, she was taken by the police and didn't have it good. She is around 16 years old and is one of the few pigs in the Netherlands that was transported in a police van and came to us in this manner. So now she's on the lookout for a nice home with plenty of space, healthy food, and a companion—something she'll need to get used to. At first, Mrs. Lizzy was quite grumpy towards us, but that has improved quite a bit. Does anyone have a companion for her and a nice home?

About Lizzy-

What life with Lizzy- looks like

Lizzy- is a senior mixed breed animal waiting at Flappus in Netherlands.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Lizzy- far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lizzy-, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lizzy-?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Flappus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lizzy- on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lizzy- if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Flappus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lizzy- already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lizzy- isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Flappus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lizzy- and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
