LOA

European Shorthair · Female · Kitten · 7 months

Loa, a shy and beautiful European cat, is waiting for a loving home. She has been at the shelter since September 18, 2026. Loa is a timid cat who has been through some tough times before arriving at the shelter. She is in need of socialization and patience. With time and love, she will open up to the world. Loa is a clean cat, which will make her transition to her new home easier. She gets along well with other cats, so a feline companion could help her gain confidence. She can handle being alone, although this needs to be confirmed as she has never been alone at the shelter. Loa does not need a garden and should be able to adapt to apartment living. What she needs most is patience, calm, and kindness. She should be allowed to progress at her own pace, without being rushed, and each of her small steps should be celebrated. A home with young children may not be the best fit for her due to her timid nature. We do not know how she reacts with dogs or how she handles cars and transportation. We prefer to be honest about this, as every cat has its own story and pace. Our team will be happy to answer your questions and arrange a meeting with her during your visit. Loa is waiting for someone to give her a safe and warm home. If her story touches your heart, please contact us ONLY by phone at 02 204 49 50. We will answer your questions and arrange a meeting with her. Adoption is only possible with a "permit to keep an animal" for people residing in the Walloon Region.

About LOA

What life with LOA looks like

LOA is a kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Help Animals in Brussels.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting LOA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about LOA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help Animals handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw LOA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt LOA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help Animals will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is LOA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if LOA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help Animals early rather than rehoming privately; they know LOA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
