Loak

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now meet Loak! adoption requirements adoption process Loak has found his own home! His story: Loak settled well into his foster home. He shows himself to be very calm and at first also a bit reserved. Loak is compatible with other dogs and in the foster home he is very attentive to the lead dog. He enjoys cuddles but decides for himself when enough is enough. He is never pushy about it. Driving with him has already been practiced, and he is very relaxed about it. Walking on a leash also works very well. He was house-trained from the first day. He shows no food aggression during feeding and eats very calmly. Dog encounters outside also go better and better. There is still a lot of potential in Loak and we are convinced that he will develop into the absolute dream dog. He is approximately 45 cm tall and weighs around 20 kg. Who would like to give our Loak a home? By arrangement, he can be visited in his foster home. Loak travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. He of course also has his EU pet passport in his luggage. Many thanks Laura Z.! You gave Loak his special name! Date: 16.07.

Vielen Dank Laura Z.! Du hast Loak seinen besonderen Namen gegeben! Stand: 16.07.2024

About Loak

What life with Loak looks like

Loak is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Loak, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Loak?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Loak on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Loak if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Loak already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Loak isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Loak and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
