Adopt Lobito

Male · Puppy · 6 months

Breed: Mix. Gender: male. Born around November 2025. Shoulder height: 39 cm. Compatible with dogs: yes. Compatible with children: yes. Compatible with cats: yes Lobito - enjoys the presence of other animalsOne morning, Lobito lay at the door of our shelter. Abandoned. He had curled up into a ball and made himself as small as he could, because the night had been icy cold. As the Animaleas approached, he barely moved, and in his eyes stood a heartbreaking mix of despair and hope. He was easily lifted and brought to safety. By now, he has recovered—physically at least. His emotional wounds still need healing, and that will likely happen best in a real home. Lobito wants to trust, and once he overcomes his first fear, he seeks closeness and wants to be stroked. He gets along with other dogs and also with cats and feels much safer in the company of other animals. A settled family dog, with which he can orient himself, would certainly be a great help for Lobito. Do you want to show Lobito how wonderful it is to experience the security of a family? You know that he still has a lot to learn, and you are ready to work with him, investing patience and time? Excellent!

Rasse: Mix.

About Lobito

What life with Lobito looks like

Lobito is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at Nothunde La Mancha e.V. in Lindlar.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lobito, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lobito?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nothunde La Mancha e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lobito on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lobito if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nothunde La Mancha e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lobito already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lobito isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nothunde La Mancha e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lobito and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
